The Trek Elite 9.8 was chosen as it's an incredibly light and nimble handling cross country race bikes. Thanks to Trek's very own high performance carbon fibre being used in this hardtail gives we are safe in the knowledge that it's going to give us the highest level of reliability - which is of the up-most importance since Lesley is competing at an elite level in both cross country and endurance events. This bike has also been specced with some of the finest kit from Shimano, Sram and Bontrager to give us complete reliability and performance for the 2008 season.

The Iron Horse Sunday has shown dominance in the world of the last few seasons in providing a bike to take such well known riders as Sam Hill and local rider Ruaridh Cunningham to Gold medalist Winners at the 2007 Downhill World championships. So we couldn't think of a better bike to provide for our very own Downhill race team.
Our downhill Sundays have been built up with some of the finest kit in the industry. With Fox Racing Shox suspension technology in the front and rear of the bicycle and Intense Tyre Systems rubber keeping the bike firmly planted on the ground. Shimano provide the whole driving force behind the bike in the gearing and brake departments as and when they need it! With such other brands as Hope, Thomson and Easton tying up the entire package so our riders are provided with one of the best bikes in the world!
