Bikes for 2008
2008 Ironhorse Sunday with Fox 40s
Favourite Trails
I would have to say that I enjoy riding all sorts of different trails. Every race course is a challenge and it just depends how you are coping with it on the day. At the moment I am training in and around Fort William on some less well know tracks. These are very technical so are very good to practise on and are probably where I have been enjoying myself the most recently. The fact that I'm going to Morzine in the summer is also very special and can't really be matched, I guess.
Favourite Event of 2007
In 2007 no one event really stood out for me - there were a couple of events which I particularly enjoyed and therefore I did well at these races. Pitfichie in Aberdeenshire was the highlight with my first elite win and fastest time of the day.
Most Anticipated Event of 2008
The big race of 2008 has to be the World Cup in Fort William - no questions
Aims for 2008
Well, for 08 I have high goals what with joining the Alpine Bikes Team and riding a very fast bike - I see no reason to not take a step forward this year. I shall be hoping to podium at the Scottish races and maybe even win a couple. I would like to either win the Scottish Champs or the Elite Series Overall Prize - but we shall just have to wait and see! On a National level, I shall be hoping for Top 10 finishes. World Cups will hopefully result in positions of around 50th - possibly higher in Fort William. I shall just have to take each race as it comes and hopefully consistency shall offer up good overall results.

Bikes for 2008
Ironhorse Sunday Factory custom build for downhill, Trek Fuel EX 9.0 for XC and a LeMond Filmore for commuting/training
Favourite Trail
Fort William - voted the best on the world circuit for the last 5 (is it five? Might want to check that!) years running, it is a fantastic venue - fast, rough and challenging. Pitfichie - many people slate it but I helped with the building and personally think it has some very fun sections, though with the recent forest thinning who knows what the future holds for that venue
Favourite Event of 2007
Fort William SDA, My first podium
Most Anticipated Event of 2008
Fort William Endurance Downhill, Scottish Champs Glencoe.
Aims for 2008
To get back on the podium, top 3 overall finish at the SDA (though this one will not be easy at all) and finish top 10 overall in the British rankings

Favourite Trail
I like riding a section of the West Highland Way from the radio mast near Mammore Lodge down into Kinlochleven. It has its tricky moments but generally just fast flowing and drifty and as such provides a contrast to the full on nature of Scottish downhill racing. Also when it comes to pre season training there is an awesome little track near Perth called 'Not the 1.04'.
Favourite Event of 2007
Favourite event of 2007 has to have been the World Championships at Fort William in September. Though I wasn't competing at it (tad off the pace) watching the best downhill mountain bikers on the planet rally down the course was great.
Most Anticipated Event of 2008
Glen Coe SDA championships on July the 12th and 13th shall be huge. It's the first time the super tech track has been raced. The hillside is all open so you can almost see the riders full run! And it has a chairlift to the top. Woo yeah!
Aims for 2008
My main aim for this year is to swallow my pride and accept getting beat by youngsters. It's the strength to weight ratio!

Favourite Trail
That one is easy - Innerleithen! There is such a mixed bag around! Anything from G's steepest fastest trails (who needs corners they only slow you down after all) to mega rock gardens then nice flowing single track. The climbs are tough and there are some real technical ones around that I haven't managed to clean... Yet! It's pretty hard to beat that's for sure.
Favourite Event of 2007
I really enjoyed Drumlanrig; a technical course - now we are talking - and Rick always puts a lot of effort into the courses and that always shows.
Most Anticipated Event of 2008
It has to be the last round of the SXC in the Tweed Valley, a round near home - yeeha!
Aims for 2008
To improve on my position in the Scottish elite and make an impact in the British races.
